Guatemala Santa Anita
This coffee, from Finca Santa Anita, accentuates sweetness all the way through the cupping experience. The dry grounds smell of honey, and hot water brings scents of brown sugar, butter and caramel covered apple. In the cup, we get a great balance of honey and cocoa flavors cut by a malic acidity that's similar to apple juice. As the cup cools, stone fruit nectar and pear accents emerge, as well as bittersweet chocolate syrup and black plum.
