Hi all! Just wanted to shine some light on the two newest additions to our shop.
First up is Guatemala Lo Mejor de Cuilco, a regional blend representing the best coffees our buyer cupped from the Cuilco area of Huehuetenango in western Guatemala. The dry grounds smell of caramelizing sugar, butter and vanilla, and brewing brings out raw honey and dried stone fruit. The hot cup has a straightforward sweetness, but butterscotch and pecan emerge as the cup cools, along with a beautiful apricot nectar note. A really wonderful daily brew!
Next, and in response to popular demand, we’ve rolled out our very own French Roast blend. This is by far the darkest roast we’ve offered to date and is designed to produce attractive pungent, bittersweet, carbony flavors, as well as more syrupy body. If you’re after something voluminous and sharp that stings you a bit down the center of the tongue, you might really like this blend. On the other hand, if acidity and fruit are your main objectives, you’re probably better off steering clear. You’ve been warned 🙂
Either way, hope you check them both out! Fresh crop Ethiopians are coming soon, so stay tuned for more info on that front.
Cheers!
